Abstract
The present study aimed to set up and verify a posttraumatic growth process structural model based on precedent research. The relationship between emotional clarity, emotional self-disclosure, social support, deliberate rumination, psychological acceptance, posttraumatic growth, and subjective well-being was set as a structural model. A total of 535 college students participated in the study; 443 remained after exclusions. Responses were analyzed utilizing basic correlational analyses and structural equation modeling. The results were as follows: 1) Emotional clarity had a direct-positive effect on emotional self-disclosure and psychological acceptance. Emotional self-disclosure had a direct-positive effect on social support. Social support had a direct-positive effect on deliberate rumination, psychological acceptance, posttraumatic growth, and subjective well-being. Deliberate rumination had a direct-positive effect on posttraumatic growth. Psychological acceptance had a direct-positive effect on posttraumatic growth and subjective well-being. Posttraumatic growth had a direct-positive effect on subjective well-being. 2) Emotional self-disclosure, social support, deliberate rumination, and psychological acceptance partially mediated the relationship between emotional clarity and posttraumatic growth, subjective well-being. Implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research are discussed.
